All those who attend (or would like to attend) are advised that the Wednesday Bible Study will resume in the Undercroft of All Saints Church following the 10.00am Eucharist service.

Parish Council Meetings

The Parish Council has decided to revert to monthly meetings (from meeting bi-monthly). The meetings are held at 1.00pm on the 4th Wednesday of the month with the exception of December.  The September 2023 meeting will be held on Wednesday 27th September. Decisions arising from the August meeting comprise:

• The Wardens have completed an annual inspection of All Saints Building and a report will be prepared for submission to a future meeting of the Council.

• Some of the guttering on Holy Trinity Church, Uki, was in need of replacement and plumbers will be asked to quote for replacement of all the guttering.

• Quotations were being invited for repair of the flood lights in All Saints Church as well as testing and tagging of all electrical equipment.

• A Parish Health Check document was completed by individual Parish Councillors and a co-ordinated document forwarded to the Diocese.

• Several options for improvement of the sound system in All Saints Church were considered.

• A Trivia Night will be held in All Saints Undercroft on Friday 13th October in aid of Murwillumbah Christian Education Fund.

• Four members of the Council and a parishioner intending to teacher SRE attended Safe Church Training in Lismore on 5th August. This training is designed to prevent abuse of all types against people of all ages, particularly children, and to identify people who might be that way inclined. Several issues were identified in the training and these will be addressed by the Council at future meetings.

Helping the Homeless

The Rev’d Constantine Osuchukwu, Chaplain of Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, writes that he has been working with some of the Year 10 Service Learning students to address one of the root causes of homelessness – mental illness. He says we have recorded a ‘call to action’ video and would like you to share amongst your circles – we need a hand to assist us to take the project forward. Anglicare is in partnership and the Tweed shire Council is supportive.
